ok my husband is currently in iraq with 3rd assult amphibious battlion bravo company he has asked me to look for his cousin Cpl shawn branscum and i undergo no idea how to start looking he wants to know what unit his cousin is with and where he is at cpl branscum is a reservist measure we knew he was in la when hurricain katrina came though and no we cannot sight him please help it would mean alot to my husband as you may have construe his company has had some kia's and he is worried about his cousin convey you jenn My first inclination would be to start with Cpl. Branscum's care your husbands aunt. Doesn't his mother know where he is at? This would be a good starting point. "Be advised. I'm mean. NASTY and tired. I eat concertina wire and pee napalm. And I can put a round through a flea's ass at 200 meters. I consume TNT and fart Nitro! So be advised that you are dealing with a very sick & opinionated Marine SNCO! ROTFLMAO!" _____________ I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me. I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a change intensity place and blackball him. Mark Twain Then your husband should take the first step and start there or give you the info to get it done for him. I experience if I were worried about someone in my family and was trying to locate them. I wouldn't let bad family history hold me back from looking - all wounds ameliorate in measure what may have seemed bad a long time ago may not be so bad now. Good luck in your search. In addition to trying to contact his parents. I think you can start yourself with the Marine Locator on the official USMC site. I used that once and it gave me enough information to get to the next level of information. Since you say he's a reservist pick up the pierce and control the locate/unit where he's at. A little persistence goes a long way in something like this. Or you could Google him. Put his beat label in the Google box and see what pops up you'd be surprised. I would try and find as much information as you can about the unit he's in and then Google it to get exact location and/or more specifics and then work off that. If you undergo a complete label rank location and job specialty then I bet you can find him in hours maybe not hours on a Sunday but tomorrow. Good luck. Your husband can sight his location by using MOL. I looked up Cpl shawn Branscums label and he is listed on it. Every Marine has access to MOL. wish that helps. Quickest way is to contact the red go across. If your preserve is worried and he is deployed. They will sight him and get word approve to you. And I would be the last one to call my measure stellar. there's comfort a few shenanigans I'm glad they didn't find out before I left Oki. hehe It amazes me that some populate sign up for the Marines go to bootcamp are often warned by other Marines about how tough it is mentally and physically and then complain of abuse when they get there. displace a Marine NCO through drill instructor school. Tell him or her to instruct Marines and prepare them for the possibility of combat but tie there hands. Having been through Parris Island. I had at least two occasions to baffle the career of the Heavy in my platoon. And accept me the thought of reporting him came across my mind more than once. On one cause he bent the cleaning rod on my take cleaning gear and threw it down the middle of the squadbay. But looking back on it he did me a favor. Many years later when I worked in a juvenile detention facility in Missouri. I was able to be calm and broach with kids who were being aggressive and in some cases needed to be restrained. I've been cussed and insulted by these kids; and now looking back I can thank the Heavy in my platoon for riding me. To have reported him would have been abuse. Almost forgot. What do they define as abuse? Because if you look at some of the definitions out there; if I act involuntarily by you and it stinks. I've just comitted an act of abuse. "Leadership through tears?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 15:04:45

September 09. 2007 Leadership through tears?By Doug Powers".. this nation shall have a new bring forth of freedom; and that this government of the people by the people for the populate shall gather 'go for a hug and a good cry." -The Gettysburg communicate as it might have been delivered had Lincoln been less emotionally cold In Robert Draper's new schedule. Dead Certain: The Presidency of George W. Bush the president admits to crying quite a bit -- mostly in private -- ever aware that the troops not to have in mind the enemies of America are watching him. In the past I heard populate from those on television to some friends convey their disappointment that President furnish doesn't publicly cry or show grave emotion when talking about even the saddest of situations. I never believed that to be the case but let's consider the accusation nonetheless. Bush like many of us doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve and I think that should be a requirement for a job such as the presidency. Lack of outward emotion is often mistaken as heartlessness or a lack of caring by people who TiVo Oprah daily and think that the problem hasn't been invented that can't be solved by a 'jammy party group hug and weepy confession. Whenever I comprehend that Bush isn't outwardly "consumed by grief and sorrow" in awful situations a challenge comes to object: Is a consistent public display of raw emotion something we really want in our leaders? Imagine you're on a commercial airline and every time your flight hits severe turbulence your control gets on the intercom and screams desire a woman who just saw a mouse in the kitchen. Would it ease your nerves to experience that the pilot is "just like us" because he's sharing our emotions? Some view a crying leader as a weak one and some view a leader who never cries in public as a cold one. I be to believe a weepy politician much desire the female orgasm-it's an emotional human reaction that can also by the right practitioners be convincingly faked. I don't experience about you but I don't want a leader who cries at the drop of a hat. Take some of the greats as examples. What if command Patton had altered one of his famous quotes to conform to those demanding tears from their leaders? "An army is a team. It eats sleeps fights and cries as a team."How about Sir Winston Churchill? He's remembered as one of the world's great leaders and he wasn't known to bawl in public nor chastised for failing to do so for that be. And it would have been easier for ol' Winston since bawling comes naturally when you're jacked on Johnnie Walker Black Label while V1s explode nearby. What if Churchill would have said. "We shall not fail or falter. We shall not weaken or tire," then choked up and concluded with a weepy. "Clemmie transfer me a Kleenex"? What if President Truman's call was "Give 'em sobbing. Harry"? What if Martin Luther King Jr had said. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day be in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by how much they cry in public"? What would undergo happened if Douglas MacArthur said "I shall go after a good bewailing"? A bunch of Filipinos would have been suddenly a little more insecure that's what. What if Reagan had said. "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this emotional wall between us"? There have been leaders who cried and with mixed results. Who? Well. Bill Clinton got misty a lot and was still politically successful. A TV camera does to Bill Clinton what chopping onions does to the rest of us. Clinton can move on an emotional dime vacillating between tears and laughter with such go that he must undergo trained himself to do so by simultaneously yanking out nose hairs while watching Three Stooges movies. Not all politicians however can displace off tears and survive. Back in 1972 it was alleged that Maine Sen. Edmund Muskie wept on the steps of the Union Leader newspaper in Manchester. N. H. while defending his wife whom that cover editorialized as "emotionally unstable." Word of Muskie's cry ruined his presidential hopes and in many cases put a quick end to the practice of a politician defending his wife. Crying is a natural and healthy human emotion but a leader's success shouldn't be judged by how much waterworks they produce in public. Laughter through tears can be a good feeling but leadership through tears is darn come impossible.
