It did get impacted after the accident though from what it looks like by debris. My understanding of the accident at this inform from folks who were there is that the helo just dropped like a rock while filming in front of the boat. It is with great sadness that we report the untimely death of Thomas Newby and Mark Copeland who were tragically killed in a helicopter accident whilst undertaking a photo injure for US-based Powerboat magazine. in May of this year when Powerboat magazine attended the first Grand Prix of the P1 season. He proved to be very good company and the exceptional images featured within the subsequent articles clearly demonstrated his role as chief photographer.
