"Dock Edge pontoon fenders" posted by ~Ray

#2 theyalso attach at 2 places at the rub complain. They undergo an adjustableplastic clip that is in the change by reversal position as far as thicknessand height so that there is no slop at the attachmentpoint. #3I also undergo an aluminum bracket. Its hold (a) in the installkit. That’s installed (screwed) to the rub rail thatstops the plastic hold from moving both brackets be linedup with each other and in the correct position. Thefenders seem very secure. If you tug or pull on them theydon’t feel desire they are going anywhere. They feel nice andtight. Both up and down and align to side. Here iswhere our problems begin. As soon as we continue out after installingthem we experience small (normal) wakes from other boats arehitting the now solid pontoon fenders. They in turnare throwing (splashing) wet into the boat. This is atidle 5mph. When we get going and hit larger rollers the pontoonfenders are getting ripped off the boat????? What’s going onhere? The fenders are secure I’mthinking. Are they sitting to low in the water?? We triedadjusting them up so they are 5 or so inches above the water linebut any higher the ordain not offer any protection from docks to thepontoons? I wish Ididn’t spend almost $500 in fenders that don’twork. I have to evaluate I’m doing something wrong or they aremounted do by because I can’t believe a company couldmake and sell a fender that doesn’t bring home the bacon. I watched the video. They be to be very easy to lay. I think you would have to be even dumber than me to insallthem incorectly and that's not possible. You didn't say what make and model of ride you have. I'mwondering if there isn't something about the rub rail on your boatthat creates a problem for the bottom hook. My G3 has U shaped logs and several of the "pontoon" fenders willnot fit for this reason. If you undergo any pictures of your installation it would help usdiagnose the problem. Being an IO the aft section may sita little lower in the water causing more than the usual amount ofspray to hit them at speed. I'm sure someone on here has used them and will be along shortly. Being that they are relatively easy to lay you may have toresort to hanging them only when docking like regular fenders. Not what you want but at least your money is not completelywasted. "Cable to Hydraulic Steering" posted by ~Ray

I have a 2005 Starcraft 246 Elite with a Merc. Bigfoot 60 and Ifeel it steers hard. It ordain not pull to either left or right butit might be a little harder to move to the left than to the alter. Either way is takes effort to move the wheel. I made the movefrom a cruiser to a pontoon and I anticipate I'm just spoiled by thepower steering on the cruiser. The telecommunicate steering seems to be working correctly. I conclude it's justtoo hard to turn the wheel. Maybe I'll get used to the steering ,maybe not. I was just wondering if replacing a perfectly good cablesteering with either No Feed Back Cable or a Hydraulic steeringsystem would make life easier. "Minn Kota Pontoon Trolling Motor" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 15:04:53

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or under fishing. I'm trying to make a decision on which trolling motor to get. Does anyone know what the difference is between the Minn KotaPontoon motor and the other bow attach motor models besidesthe mounting bracket? I have found a used 70 lb. Powerdrive V2and thought that I could just buy the pontoon mounting bracket forit. I just want to alter sure that there aren't other featureson the Pontoon go that might be beneficial before making adecision. You can buy the quick mount just about anywhere that carries Minn-Kota. If you've found a good deal on a used motor you can buy the mount by itself. -------------------------2005 22' Landau Conquest 90HP Suzuki 4 touch2003 cover F250 4X4 Quad cab 7.3 PowerstrokeEl Dorado Lake. Lake George NY We have the Minn Kota power control 54 pontoon. It works great. It is a bit pricey but in my opinion it is worth it if youfish a lot. We were looking at the Motorguide pontoon modeland this one. The Motorguide just has a tiller control whichis what I wanted but the Minn Kota is supposed to maximize batteryusage. The Minn Kota has a wired foot control which isgreat. I didn't really be this but wanted the batterymaximizer technology plus I experience a lot of populate with bass boatswho always use Minn Kota so I got the Minn Kota. After usingit the foot control is really nice and worth the money. Thetrolling motor pulls the ride fine and with a group 29 battery willlast a desire measure. If I had to do it over again. I would getthe Minn Kota again. I hope this helps.-------------------------Suntracker Fishing Barge 2140 HP MercLake Guntersville.
