Officier van Justitie Plooij ontkent dat in 2005 getuigen in de Hofstadzaak onder druk zijn gezet. Dat heeft de aanklager woensdag voor het gerechtshof verklaard als getuige in het Hofstadproces dat in hoger beroep wordt behandeld. Zo schrijft de vandaag. Plooij was de ‘zaaksofficier’ in eerste aanleg. Aanleiding voor zijn verhoor was de ondervraging van getuige Malika C. die als minderjarige kortstondig islamitisch was gehuwd met een Hofstadverdachte. Hierover legde zij in 2005 een belastende verklaring af bij de politie. Nadat zij een ‘dreigbrief’ had ontvangen – die zij zelf niet als zodanig zei te ervaren – weigerde zij te getuigen voor de rechter en werd ze korte tijd gegijzeld omdat een getuige verplicht is te antwoorden. Voorafgaand aan het politieverhoor had Plooij drie keer communicate met de familie van het meisje waar C twee keer bij zat. De officier weersprak gisteren dat hij de zaak toen inhoudelijk heeft doorgesproken wat volgens advocaten de betrouwbaarheid van haar verklaring zou schaden. Vorige week heeft C achter gesloten deuren verklaard dat zij zich destijds onder druk gezet voelde door onder andere Plooij. Zij noemde hem een ‘plakkertje’. Vrijdag wordt de teamleider van het onderzoek verhoord over de getuigenis van C. Twee andere getuigen hebben zich voor het hof eveneens beklaagd over het optreden van politie en justitie. Ergun Cetin luitenant ter zee 2e klasse gaat als eerste Nederlandse marineofficier zijn dienstplicht in Turkije vervullen. De luitenant is hier wel beroepsmilitair maar hij moest zijn dienstplicht in Turkije nog vervullen. Cetin gaat voor een maand naar Turkije en krijgt van de regering €6000,- in de vorm van rentloze lening. Wij van BvdR wensen hem veel succes in Turkije en hopelijk komt de mogelijke oorlog met Irak voor hem net te laat zodat hij zijn handen niet vuil hoeft te maken.
